Fable Stories

Fables stories are written around characters like animals, plants, things or other non-living things that are given the qualities of humans. In fable stories these characters talk with each other, react like humans in their feelings, and do all sorts of work that normal human beings do. The purpose of these types of stories is to convey a message or a moral. Although such things do not exist in our real life, these stories bring a new concept by defining the feelings of animals and toys. These stories are written for both children and adults to teach them different values of humanity in an interesting manner.

Elements of the Fable Stories

Each character in the story is developed beginning with a background through which it is introduced, and most of the time the background of each character has a link with the coming story. Each country has its own sort of stories in their native languages. Each country portrays their fairytales in the manner it is likely to be accepted among their people according to the cultures and beliefs. All the characters in the stories are described in details that create an image of their personality and develop an interest in the story. It depends on the writer of the story to appeal to the attention of his audience through the personalities and attributes of the characters. It is only the skillful work of the writer which makes people enjoy reading their stories. Fable stories may be in the form of short stories or in the form of long novels or books. All the stories revolve around good and evil, friends and there enemies. These tales are always filled with twists and characters, but the real skill of the fairytale writer is to always keep the story interesting while keeping the reader from getting confused about the characters or events happening. That is why most of the fairytales are written in simple native language without introducing advanced words, thus keeping the story simple and understandable. In each fable tale new characters are introduced so that all the stories are not predictable and monotonous, and the characters are selected keeping the religions and beliefs of the audience in mind.

All the characters are named and explained in the stories at the time they are introduced to keep the reader’s attention focused on the event instead of first explaining all the characters and then starting with the story. The suspense is always maintained throughout the story until it reaches its climax. The thrill, suspense, action, love and emotional scenes are required to be blended in the story at their perfect places to make it one of the classical fairytale. All of these attributes of the story bring real emotions in the story. These feelings make the story believable and get the reader involved in the story as he feels the emotions of the characters in his minds. The fairytales are always filled with gestures to bring out the real emotions of the characters. The names of the characters are usually based on the nature of their roles in the story. This also fascinates the reader while going through the story and also creates images of those characters in his mind, making the reader emotional when anything happens to his favorite character. In this way the story ultimately develops some sort of lesson for the reader.
