Joke Stories
Joke stories are stories written for the purpose of amusement. These stories may be short or long ones. It totally depends on the reader to choose a lengthy one or a short one to attain a state of pleasure. Writing joke stories requires a really creative mind with a good sense of humor. It is not necessary that the funny events in the story amuse everyone. Sometimes the people who lack a sense of humor do not get the joke the way it was presented, or they just take it as a normal conversation. After reading the whole story, some people wonder what was so funny in the story. This is why reading such types of stories also depends on the taste and personality of the reader.
Types of Joke Stories
Making someone happy is just like reading a person’s mind and tickling his brain by bringing a smile on his face. Joke stories can be taken from the funny events that usually take place in one’s life. However, one cannot just write the funny part directly; for writing that funny part, the writer needs to plot the story before and after to give it a complete sense. Although starting can be done easily, the skill comes in how to end a short funny story so that the flow of story does not get an absurd end. Joke stories can be made around fictional characters or on the real lives of people. Usually people like both of the types, unless the jokes are not so ridiculously described.
Mostly novels or other books which are not usually written as a joke story also contain some humorous characters to keep the reader’s mood changing while he is reading. This is usually done by the writer to give a balance to the story so that the story moves in a smooth changing pattern and keeps the mind of the reader busy. If the story does not have any blend of love, comedy, suspense and thrill, the reader will very quickly lose interest in the book and start taking the book as a boring one. Joke stories are available in a wide variety depending on the characters and the situations for which they are made.
Essential Elements in a Joke Story
The jokes in the stories are more entertaining if they are taken from daily life as they give a genuine feeling to the characters. Joke stories always come up with new hilarious jokes; otherwise, people might get bored with them and stop reading these stories. Joke stories may contain quotes from television, or a known real story may be made hilarious by putting jokes in place of the serious parts that happened in reality. The writers always focus on not repeating their jokes or not overdoing what they want to say in a joke. By doing such a thing, the jokes will lose their entertaining sense and make the situation bizarre for the reader. The writers always try to keep the language of their stories as simple as possible because introducing advanced words might not be able to entertain the reader in the sense it was desired.
All joke stories depend on two main streams. One is the words used for describing the humor in the story, and the other is the flow given to the structural sentences and the arrangement of those sentences in the story. Each sentence in the story cannot be made as a hilarious one. If one has arranged a lot of entertaining sentences in a row, then he needs to keep these sentences flowing the same way. A good short funny story always has a pattern of funny sentences, and each funny sentence should come in that specific pattern. That helps the reader predict each funny sentence that is about to come in the coming situation. In this way, the reader is automatically involved in the story and tries to finish the story as early as possible. When this curiosity is developed in the reader, it becomes clear that the book has accomplished its objective.
