Humorous Stories

Humorous stories are also a part of modern literature. These stories are generally aimed at creating a feeling of joy and happiness for the reader. These stories vary in their length from being short to long stories. It depends on the reader to choose a lengthy one or a short one to attain a state of pleasure. Writing humorous stories requires a really creative mind with a good sense of humor. Because it is not necessary that the funny parts in the story amuse everyone, sometimes the people who lack a sense of humor do not get the joke in the way it was presented, or they make take it as a normal conversation. Even some people after reading the whole humorous story wonder what was so funny and how made it to the best seller list. This is why reading humorous stories also depends on the taste and personality of the reader.

Types of Humorous Stories

Humorous stories are available in a wide variety depending on the characters and the situations for which they are made. Humorous stories can be taken from the funny situations that usually take place in one’s life. But one cannot just write the funny part directly; for writing that funny part, the writer needs to plot the story before and after to give it a complete sense. Although starting can be done easily, the skill comes in how to end a humorous story so that the flow of story does not get an absurd ending. Humorous stories can be created around fictitious characters as well as around real life people.

Usually people like both of the types, unless the jokes are not so ridiculously described. Mostly the novels or other books which are not usually written as humorous stories also contain some humorous characters to keep the reader’s mood changing while he is reading. If the story does not have a blend of love, comedy, suspense and thrill, the reader will quickly lose interest in the book and start taking the book as a boring one. Humorous stories come in all possible languages written by native authors. Each author writes funny parts, keeping in mind the aesthetic sense of its reader as well as the rituals and traditions. Authors mostly cover all parts of life in their humorous stories like politics, crime, social relations, and families. They can make a story that revolves around any part of life.

Essential Elements in a Humorous Story

All humorous stories depend on two main streams. One is the words used for describing the humor in the story and the other is the flow given to the structural sentences and the arrangement of those sentences in the story. Each sentence in the story cannot be made as a hilarious one. If one has arranged a lot of entertaining sentences in a row, then he needs to keep these sentences flowing the same way. A good humorous story always has a pattern of funny sentences, and each funny sentence comes in that specific pattern. That makes the reader able to predict for each funny sentence which is about to come in the coming situation. In this way, the reader is automatically involved in the story and tries to finish the story as early as possible. When this curiosity is developed in the reader, it becomes clear that the book has accomplished its objective.

Humorous stories always come up with new hilarious jokes; otherwise, people might get bored of them and stop reading these stories. Humorous stories may contain quotes from television, or sometimes a known real story is made hilarious by putting jokes in place of the serious parts. The writers always focus on not repeating their jokes or not over doing what they want to say in a joke. By doing such a thing, the jokes will lose their entertaining sense and make the situation bizarre for the reader. The reader always tries to keep the language of their stories as simple as possible because introducing advanced words might not be able to entertain the reader in the sense it was desired.
